Helping Wellcome Leap - a world-leading philanthropic organisation - to prioritise investment in 12 new diagnostics aiming to cut stillbirth rates by half
What we did:
As part of Wellcome Leap’s $50m "In Utero" program, engaged with funders, grantees, and industry experts to identify the most promising innovations to cut stillbirth rates
Evaluated 12 technologies against criteria for success in the US, UK, Uganda, and India
Designed a new pathway to scale that addressed health system structural barriers
Delivered commercialization training to scientific teams
Impact:
In Utero received $100m in additional funding to reduce global stillbirths in line with our recommendations
Through this new partnership with the Gates Foundation, the initiative was renamed "Uzima" with a focus on advancing innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa
